The William Hill Trophy Handicap had 21 runners going to tape and it was Wichita Lineman who set off as the favourite with the bookies. It was The Sawyer who was happy to do the early running through the first circuit and Wichita Lineman made a terrible mistake at an early fence and was way back in the field.
Coming over the final couple of fences it was Maljimar who looked to be clear but out out of no where came AP McCoy on board Wichita Lineman who had worked his way back up the field. It was Wichita Lineman who pipped Maljimar on the line in a barnstorming finish and one of the great rides from McCoy. A good ride saw Nenuphar Collonges saw him finish in third.
