The first day of the Cheltenham Festival features the Champion Hurdle and is the main race on day one. The other major races on the first day include the Arkle Trophy and the Supreme Novices Hurlde. Before Racing
10.00am Cheltenham Radio, powered by Timeform, goes on air. Tune in 87.7FM, online at www.cheltenham.co.uk or by using a Sound Dec earpiece which are available to buy on the racecourse.
10.30am Gates open. 1,000 special Centenary bowler hats will be given away to the first racegoers through the gates. Shopping will be available in the tented village and Centenary-themed music will be provided by The London Ragtime Orchestra.
12.15pm Paddock interviews with connections of the day’s leading contenders. Hosted by Ian Carnaby and Jonathan Powell.
12.30pm Retraining of Racehorses Parade of Stars in the paddock, featuring Festival heroes of yesteryear who have gone on to fulfil new roles.
